The LASALLE Show ’09, LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore.

Before my final presentation for my MAFA at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, I participated in the LASALLE Show ’09. Now if one didn’t know what kind of nonsense goes on behind the walls of an art school, one would be forgiven for thinking the poster for the event, might be promoting some sort of niche-market-alien-porn movie. Alas, East and West alike merely share the almighty tradition of degree show fever! So, as you folks in Dublin/Ireland present your work or make your way around the NCAD, IADT, DIT, GMIT, LIT, Queens Belfast and Crawford degree shows, spare a thought for the contemporaries abroad. Here are some pics I took of the LASALLE show ’09. Work is from the Fine Art Department’s Diploma, BA and MAFA courses.

- Eunice Ng Wei Ling, “A Conscious Moment” (2009), Wire + Emulsion paint, Dimensions Variable. This is so difficult to see because it is so visually subtle (white wire over white wall), but wanted to include it anyway.
- Hafizah, “The Loop!” (2009), Yarn and wire, Dimensions Variable. I’m a huge fan of this kind of maniacal activity these days.

The following week, the college had their official opening in the ‘new’ building (they have been there two years already). The place looks great at night time, so their were some shenanigans afoot… including some live music… here’s some video I took during the evening.
